About the team and the role:
eBay Inc. seeks Software Engineer 2 in San Jose CA
What you will accomplish:
Job Duties: Build robust and scalable software and improve code services and system architecture. Participate in brainstorming sessions and supply ideas to our Technology Algorithms and Products Teams. Work with the Product and Design teams to understand end-user requirements formulate use cases and deliver results. Estimate engineering efforts prioritize projects plan implementations and triage production issues. Aggregate information from various places and build relationships with key partners to gather the information needed. Capture business and application requirements from the product management team and user feedback. Analyze and study existing software structures and identify technical details to achieve functional requirements. Create design documents for technical details of new features to define technical road map (backend service requirements data manipulation user interface). Identify defects in the existing system and rewrite/refactor. Create user interfaces and functions make new features for mobile apps. Write unit test cases for different application functions perform local testing in development and cover edge cases with mock networking tools. Review of code implementation with team reduce code coupling and improve code quality and consistency. Prepare for shipping; merge changes with existing applications and build a beta version for the product management team to install and review before deployment to production. Full-time telecommuting permitted from anywhere within the U.S.
What you will bring:
Minimum Requirements: Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Software Engineering or a closely related field. Employer will accept a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Software Engineering or a closely related field plus two years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Any suitable combination of education training and experience is acceptable. Experience can be gained through academic coursework scholastic achievement or work experience.
Salary: $172931.00-234850.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including location skills and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
