Job Description

The University of Nevada Reno is accepting applications for a Senior Multimedia Designer. Reporting to the Director of Creative Services within Marketing and Communications which reports directly to the Presidents office the Senior Multimedia Designer is a University wide external facing position that is responsible for conceptualizing designing and editing various multimedia projects that effectively communicate the institutions brand messages and engages target audiences with a specific focus of increasing enrollment which is one of the Universitys strategic initiatives.

The Senior Multimedia Designer will work closely with the marketing and communications leadership team as well as our Videographer Senior Growth Marketing Manager Social Media Communications Officer Email Marketing Manager and web team to produce graphics ads and videos for the Universitys digital platforms. The position works in collaboration with the executive team to conceptualize strategic initiatives meant to increase awareness and enrollment.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Video & Motion Graphics

  • Edit and format short- and long-form videos for web social media and digital ads

  • Create motion graphics and animations for digital billboards social media email and online ads

  • Trim and adapt existing B-roll and video content to match different platform needs (TikTok Instagram YouTube website)

Content Repurposing & Optimization

  • Take existing video images and other creative assets and reformat them for various applications and channels

  • Adjust content for different audiences (prospective students alumni faculty etc.)

  • Optimize visuals for different specs (e.g. resizing for Instagram Stories vs. a web banner)

Digital & Web Media Design

  • Design digital ads (Google Meta programmatic) ensuring high-quality engaging visuals

  • Perform related design tasks including photo editing text styling and artwork production

  • Create web and social media graphics that align with university branding

  • Develop visuals for digital signage interactive screens and campus-wide displays

Graphic Design & Branding Support

  • Assist in branding and visual storytelling across digital platforms

  • Ensure all repurposed content maintains a cohesive and polished look

  • Create branded templates and materials for digital use

  • Support print design as needed (primary focus will be on digital design)

Required Qualifications

Bachelors Degree and four years of related professional work experience; OR a Masters Degree and two years of related professional work experience

Related Experience:Digital design graphic design video editing social media or related

Preferred Qualifications

  • Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro After Effects Photoshop Illustrator inDesign Express)

  • Strong motion graphics and video editing skills

  • Experience in repurposing existing content for different formats and audiences

  • Knowledge of digital advertising and social media best practices

  • Experience with Canva and other digital design software

  • Familiarity with web design principles and digital optimization

  • Bonus: Basic photography/videography for capturing additional content as needed
