Summary
The Contracts & Billing Specialist is responsible for managing and billing all Agency contracts with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Medicaid and insurance companies.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for working with Commonwealth of Massachusetts funders to ensure that all contracts are current and updated as needed
- Responsible for billing all Commonwealth of Massachusetts contracts
- Responsible for gathering source documentation used for billing applicable to each contract in a timely manner
- Responsible for billing Medicaid and third-party insurance companies and managing issues that arise with Medicaid to ensure maximum collectability
- Responsible for accurately and timely entering data in various billing interfaces and Excel workbooks that analyze revenue and track contract utilization
- Maintenance of internal billing and tracking workbooks and accurate creation of invoices in the accounting system
- Management and processing of housing and food subsidies
- Cross train in the Accounts Payable and Representative Payee functions providing back-up as required

Experience/Education
- Associates degree preferred
- Two years related experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Ability to multi-task work under pressure and meet deadlines
Analytical Skills
Demonstrated ability to solve problems and successfully manage several projects simultaneously.
Language Skills
Mastery of the English language required as demonstrated by the ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions procedure manuals safety rules and personnel policies. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak professionally with other employees or managers within the organization required.
Mathematical Skills
Must have the ability to add subtract multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Must be able to apply common sense understanding to interpret and carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagram or schedule form. Must have the ability to solve practical problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
