Position Title: MedSurg ManagerReports To: Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) We are seeking a dedicated and experienced MedSurg Manager to lead our Medical/Surgical nursing unit. This is a working manager position requiring both leadership and direct patient care responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to supporting staff and ensuring excellent patient outcomes. This is an interim role with a 26-week commitment required and it is designed as an interim-to-permanent opportunity for the right candidate interested in transitioning into a long-term leadership role within our organization. Key Responsibilities: Provide daily operational and clinical leadership for the Med/Surg unit. Participate in direct patient care as needed to support workflow patient safety and quality. Offer at-the-elbow support for staff serving as a visible and engaged leader on the unit. Work a variable shift based on departmental needs and participate in the on-call rotation. Implement strategies that promote clinical excellence patient satisfaction and staff engagement. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated high-quality care. Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g. CMS Joint Commission). Assist with staffing scheduling budgeting and resource management. Lead or support quality improvement initiatives and shared governance efforts. Qualifications: Bachelor s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master s degree in Nursing Healthcare Administration or related field preferred. Active RN license in good standing or ability to obtain licensure in Colorado. Minimum of 3 years of nursing leadership experience preferably in a Med/Surg or acute care environment. Comfortable providing direct patient care and clinical support. Strong interpersonal leadership and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills & Experience: Experience with shared governance and performance improvement initiatives. Familiarity with staffing optimization patient throughput and evidence-based care. Proven ability to coach mentor and develop high-performing nursing teams.
