Job Description
- Answer quality issues and questions (referencing Specifications Blueprints etc)
- Resolve NDT issues (questionable acceptance/rejection)
- Ensure certifications are correct and up to date
- MRB meetings as needed
- Update radiographic and penetrant methods with new technology
- Revise radiographic techniques and ensure new exposure parameters are correct
- Be able to learn equipment and calibration requirements process controls etc
- Train and maintain NDT personnel certifications internally
- Review film usage on current techniques for coverage or over coverage and give final approval
- Write work instructions for Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection when required by customer
- Check equipment for calibration requirements and send out for calibration when needed in FPI and X-ray
- Attend process improvement meetings. (Inspection improvement front frame internal auditor)
- Ensure the departments (FPI X-ray Welding) conform to NADCAP and customer requirements
- Effectively communicate with management and customers with regard to NDT processes
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Work Experience:
- Minimum Bachelor s Degree
- Minimum 5 years of Aerospace NDT experience or 10 years of other industry NDT experience
- Training and ability to obtain and maintain ASNT/NAS 410 Level 3 NDT certification in Radiography (film and digital) and FPI. Must acquire ASNT certification in same
- Must be able to pass a company specific and practical examination in each method.
