Job Description

Valid Class A CDL without air brake restriction with tanker endorsement must be obtained during probationary period & maintained thereafter.

This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.
This position is also subject to federal testing regulations pursuant to 49 CFR Part 40 (Federal Drug and Alcohol Regulations) and 49 CFR Part 382 (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) which prohibits the use of marijuana including medical marijuana. Medical marijuana is prohibited as a valid medical explanation for a positive drug test for final applicants in this position. What You Will Do:
Performs major repairs on damaged automobiles & truck bodies & other mechanical equipment (e.g. straightens frames rebuilds extensively damaged body parts; performs difficult & complex repair work such as completing cab replacement). Operates vehicles &/or mechanical equipment in order to diagnose damage & repairs needed or to verify proper maintenance work was performed enabling vehicles or equipment to operate safely (i.e. operates any single vehicle in excess of 26001 lbs or any such vehicle towing a vehicle not in excess of 10000 lbs GVWR).
Removes repairs replaces &/or adjusts doors windows electrical equipment bumpers &/or minor engine parts; installs signs seat covers lights brackets flashers logos &/or identification numbers in/on vehicles using hand & power tools; removes repairs &/or replaces interior upholstery parts; cleans & washes vehicles. Delivers automobiles trucks &/or mechanical equipment to projects sites as needed.

24 mos. exp. in automotive repair & maintenance of variety of vehicles &/or all types of equipment identified by agency; valid commercial drivers license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio revised code.
-Or 12 months as ODOT Mechanic Trainee 52151; valid commercial drivers license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio revised code.
-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above except for mandated licensure. Note: The final applicant accepted for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to appointment to test for illegal drug use. An applicant with a positive test result will not be offered employment per Section 3719.01 & 3719.41 of Ohio revised code. Valid commercial drivers license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio revised code.
