Job Overview:
Were looking for a Technical Support Specialist to join a dynamic team that bridges software systems integration and customer-facing troubleshooting. Based onsite in Grand Rapids MI this role focuses on supporting PC-based systems and SQL-driven applications deployed in the field. Youll be the first line of technical defense ensuring system uptime data integrity and user success. Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for software and system-related support inquiries
Diagnose resolve and document issues related to software networking and system performance
Utilize VPN and remote access tools to support client-deployed equipment
Configure and test PCs prior to deployment with minimal hands-on installation required
Collaborate with engineering and project teams during testing and field launches
Maintain clear records in a ticketing system and contribute to process documentation
Support end-users with proprietary software focusing on compliance reporting and performance
Manage daily technical tasks with minimal supervision often under tight timelines
Required Qualifications:
Foundational IT experience in PC troubleshooting Windows configuration and networking basics
Proficiency with VPNs remote desktop tools and help desk software
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-driven detail-oriented and able to work independently with remote teams
Comfortable learning new platforms and industry-specific software
Preferred Qualifications:
13 years in technical support IT help desk or customer-facing systems support
Familiarity with SQL databases or willingness to learn basic SQL troubleshooting
Experience in compliance-heavy industries such as logistics tobacco or finance
Exposure to ERP systems reporting tools or software/hardware integration environments
