Job Description

An established MEP consultancy based in Holywood County Down is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team. With a strong pipeline of high-quality projects across residential commercial healthcare and education sectors this is an ideal opportunity for a mechanical engineer ready to step up take on more responsibility and progress towards a senior position.

Youll join a close-knit and experienced team who pride themselves on delivering technically excellent sustainable and client-focused solutions across Northern Ireland and beyond.

Role Overview

Youll support the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems for a diverse range of projects collaborating closely with senior engineers electrical teams and external stakeholders. This role offers strong exposure to full project lifecycles and is well suited to someone who wants hands-on experience and clear development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and specification of HVAC public health and mechanical systems
  • Carry out detailed mechanical calculations reports and schedules
  • Work alongside project leads to develop design solutions and coordinate with other disciplines
  • Attend site visits and design team meetings
  • Support junior team members and review their design work where appropriate
  • Engage with clients and help ensure that expectations are met throughout each project stage

About You

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
  • 2-5 years experience in a mechanical building services design role (consultancy preferred)
  • Proficient in mechanical design software
  • A solid understanding of UK building regulations and relevant technical standards
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive solutions-focused mindset
