Job Summary:
The M&E Engineer is responsible for overseeing the mechanical and electrical systems within the hotel ensuring their optimal performance safety and reliability. This role focuses on initiating and executing improvement projects extending the lifespan of major equipment and maintaining the stability of critical systems to support seamless hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. System Reliability & Safety
- Monitor and maintain all M&E systems including HVAC electrical distribution water supply fire protection and elevators.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational reliability.
- Implement safety protocols and emergency response procedures for M&E systems.
2. Equipment Life Extension
- Assess the condition of major equipment and develop strategies to extend their operational life.
- Plan and execute refurbishment or retrofitting projects for aging systems.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment performance maintenance history and lifecycle costs.
3. Improvement Projects
- Identify opportunities for system upgrades energy efficiency improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Lead project planning budgeting and execution for M&E-related upgrades and renovations.
- Coordinate with contractors vendors and internal teams to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
4. Operational Support
- Provide technical support to hotel operations ensuring minimal disruption due to M&E issues.
- Respond promptly to system faults and breakdowns troubleshooting and resolving issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with the engineering and maintenance teams to optimize system performance.
5. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all systems comply with local regulations codes and environmental standards.
- Prepare reports maintenance schedules and documentation for audits and inspections.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction or hotel/building services engineering.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC electrical systems and building automation.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
