Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Accounting Manager to lead the financial close and reporting processes across multiple domestic and international entities. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and supports a strong internal control environment. In addition to managing and mentoring a high-performing accounting team the Accounting Manager will collaborate with external auditors support audits and reviews and contribute to ongoing improvements in systems and processes including ERP enhancements and automation initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires both technical accounting acumen and a drive for continuous improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly quarterly and annual financial close processes across multiple entities ensuring accuracy completeness and timely reporting under US GAAP.
  • Lead corporate accounting functions including general ledger intercompany fixed assets accruals prepaid expenses and other GL activities.
  • Oversee shared services accounting operations across international and domestic entities ensuring standardization of processes and internal control compliance.
  • Review and approve complex journal entries account reconciliations intercompany eliminations and financial statement components.
  • Ensure proper application of accounting standards such as ASC 842 (Leases) and ASC 830 (Foreign Currency Translation) along with familiarity of ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 805 (Business Combinations).
  • Maintain a strong internal control environment in line with SOX (if applicable) and participate in control design and remediation activities.
  • Liaise with external auditors and management consultants in support of necessary audits and reviews.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional projects such as ERP enhancements automation of reconciliations and finance process optimization.
  • Mentor and develop accounting staff promoting continuous learning and development in technical and operational areas

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
    • 68 years of progressive accounting experience including leadership roles.
    • Prior experience in the payments fintech or financial services industry strongly preferred.
    • Experience managing shared services or centralized accounting functions.
  • Technical Accounting Knowledge
    • In-depth knowledge and hands-on application of:
      • US GAAP financial reporting standards
      • Lease accounting (ASC 842) and Fixed asset accounting (ASC 360)
      • Foreign currency transactions and translation (ASC 830)
      • Deferred revenue reserves and accruals
      • Bank reconciliations and settlement account management in high-volume environments
    • Proficiency with financial systems and ERPs such as NetSuite FloQast SAP Concur etc.
    • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables VLOOKUPs and financial modeling.
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Strong leadership capabilities with a proven ability to develop and mentor teams.
    • Excellent analytical communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
    • Demonstrated success managing complex accounting across multiple entities and currencies.
