The Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at St. Marys University in San Antonio Texas invites applicants for a Visiting Assistant Professor position in Forensic Science to begin in the Fall 2025 semester. This position is a full-time one-year appointment with a nine-month service period with the possibility of renewal. The salary for this position is competitive.
The successful candidate will be ready to administer undergraduate courses consistent with the following topics: (1) Survey of Forensic Science; (2) Crime Scene Investigation; (3) Forensic Lab Techniques; (4) Forensic Criminology; and/or (5) Forensic Victimology. The position entails a 3/3 teaching load. Additional responsibilities include advising students attending departmental meetings and other service as needed. The successful candidate will have earned either a Ph.D. or relevant terminal degree in forensic science criminology or related field - or an M.S. in forensic science or relevant field - at the time of appointment.

The Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology is in the College of Arts Humanities and Social Sciences which cultivates the whole person in the Marianist tradition through academically rigorous programs that foster creativity promote justice and advance scholarship for the transformation of local and global communities. The Department comprises the Forensic Science (criminology focus) Criminology and Criminal Justice programs which together serve approximately 300 majors and minors.
