Job Description

Job Summary:

The Senior Manager of Production Control & Logistics (PC&L) provides leadership direction and accountability for the overall strategic and tactical activities in services and the end-to-end material planning receiving warehouse and shipping functions for this industry leading piston aviation engine company. Works with and supports Sales Procurement and Manufacturing organizations. Direct reports include Master Production Scheduler Manager of Planning Warehouse Manager (interim supervisors of material handling & shipping) and Inventory Control Analyst.

Leadership behavior and strategic insight to identify create and sustain capable business relationships while maintaining compliance with Lycoming Quality System Federal Aviation Administration AS9100 and adhering to Textrons internal standards regarding ethics and professional behaviors.

Leadership decision making ensures Safety Quality Delivery and Cost are attained to sustain and grow the business across domestic and international markets.

This leader is responsible for the development and sustainment of policy procedures and standard work processes.

This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Lycoming Engines.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating directing and managing the day-to-day activities required for the planning and distribution of raw materials and supplies utilized in the manufacturing process including inventory control activities & coordination and management of shipping and receiving.
  • Identify and determine proper inventory levels to ensure product availability and maximized inventory turns and minimized costs storage of inventory materials and direction of personnel assigned to logistics/planning required for materials used in manufacturing process.
  • Monitor operational key indicators on planning logistics on-time-starts and on-time delivery performance and cost control.
  • Lead all aspects for Master Scheduling Material Planning Production Control Warehouse Management Shipping and Receiving accordingly for daily weekly monthly and/or annual operating requirements; Chairs Sales Inventory Operational Planning (SIOP) for site.
  • Provide a high level of internal customer service and adaptability by compliantly working to increase transactional speed
  • Action oriented leadership for effective team building and development people management and process and performance transformation; Communication with integrity; Ability to prioritize actions and allocate resources

Additional Competencies Required:

Teamwork approach: ability to resolve conflicts; manage complexity strong organizational interpersonal and communications skills; ability and willingness to travel up to 5% of the time and knowledge of GD&T and Six Sigma methodologies preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree with 7 years experience managing and directing personnel at high technical operations.
