Fabricate assemble install and repair sheet metal products and equipment for general aviation aircraft. Work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating fabricating machines to cut bend and straighten sheet metal; shaping metal over anvils blocks or forms using hammer operating soldering and welding equipment to join sheet metal parts inspecting assembling and smoothing seams and joints burred surfaces.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. Determine project requirements including scope assembly sequences and required methods and materials according to blueprints drawings written and verbal instructions.
II. Lay out sheet metal parts using blueprints drawings written or verbal instructions.
III. Alter and existing part using blueprints drawings written or verbal commands.
IV. Rivet and sheet metal component removal.
V. Bend and form a radius on fabricated sheet metal parts.
VI. Drill various metals. Deburr holes and cut lines.
VII. Set up for countersinking and dimpling of holes.
VIII. Set up for and install solid rivets with a rivet gun and or squeeze tool.
IX. Install blind rivets and fasteners.
X. Responsible for ensuring parts meet quality specifications and requirements.
XI. Uses mechanics hand tools and measuring devices such as a scale or protractor.
XII. Daily effective communication with TSMs Mechanic Leads and others that support aircraft arrival maintenance and departure to ensure customer satisfaction.
XIII. Perform other related duties as required.
High school education or equivalent. Requires the use of simple arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of decimals and fractions simple drawings and some measuring devices.
EASA B1.1 license desirable.
EXPERIENCE:
Requires min five years of diversified aviation sheet metal experience.
