Job Description

The work location of this position is 25 South Front Street Columbus Ohio 43215. You will be required to report to this work location full-time if selected.
If this position is filled with an internal employee who has an approved telework agreement the employee may be required to report in-person during the initial training period.
What Youll Do:
The Associate Administrator of Accountability supervises the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Data Team by providing leadership oversight and strategic direction for the implementation monitoring and reporting of IDEA indicators. This role ensures the collaboration between IDEA special education profiles and ratings with the state and federal accountability system.
Supervises and directs the work of IDEA Data Team assigned to the Office of Accountability:
- Oversees the timely review completion and submission of internal federal and state reports including (but not limited to) special education profiles special education rating public indicator report and the annual performance report;
- Leads the data team in the development of special education indicators and district profiles including communication with internal and external partners in the field;
- Manages contracts and oversees vendor communication approves invoices as required;
- Assures that work is assigned and monitored for timely completion of projects and ongoing work of the office in addition to cross collaboration with the Office of Exceptional Children and the Office of Data Quality and Governance.
- Analyzes and interprets statistics financial data and management planning data for predicting resource needs and developing long range plans;
- Coordinates with office leadership to establish policies and procedures to ensure adherence to federal requirements for general supervision and reporting as well as implementation of DEW policy;
- Coordinates staff training to enhance skills for completion of assigned work and annual performance reviews;
- Attends and presents at state and national conferences and webinars to inform Ohios work; and
- Collaborates with IDEA technical assistance centers and other states to understand and inform best practices in data collection that reflect state policy priorities.
Collaborates with the administrator on the implementation of the state and federal accountability system:
- Guides the collection analysis and interpretation of educational data by identifying trends and presenting actionable insights to key internal and external stakeholders;
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to establish evidence-based policies and guidelines that improve enhancement of data collection and reporting of educational outcomes with a focus on continuous improvement;
- Leads and co-leads efforts to engage stakeholders including policymakers administrators educators and community leaders fostering cooperation and buy-in for accountability initiatives;
- Cultivates strong partnerships with federal and state education agencies ensuring compliance with accountability requirements and maximizing funding opportunities for critical initiatives; and
- Represents the Department in public forums conferences and meetings sharing best practices and advocating for accountability-driven policies at the national and regional levels.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Masters degree in Special Education Educational Leadership Public Administration or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in special education or policy development.
Expertise in IDEA indicators and data-driven decision-making with knowledge of state and federal special education laws regulations and reporting requirements.
