Job Description

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Aging Care Manager 3 you will be tasked with investigating reports of neglect and abuse of elderly petitioning court for intervention performing intensive care management duties for individuals deemed high risk as well as serving as an advisor to professional staff regarding protective service guidelines. In order to be successful in this position you will be required to maintain knowledge of protective services legislation rules regulations and operating procedures involved in the protective services program. Having an extensive understanding of community resources will enable you to further assess a clients circumstances. You will have the opportunity to establish effective working relationships with clients family members pastors neighbors other social service workers or attorneys in order to provide a better living situation for the clients. Additional responsibilities include:
- Coordinating medical social psychological or functional evaluations
- Gathering information necessary for the identification of social economic emotional health or physical problems and for assisting clients in obtaining a variety of services for older adults
- Preparing social assessment forms and establishing a care plan
- Developing plans to stabilize clients in their living quarters or to arrange for a better daily living situation
- Testifying in court
- Arranging for a representative payee to protect the clients financial assets
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday - Friday with a 30-minute lunch. Work also includes periodic on-call rotation.
- Some training may be out of Schuylkill County and may require overnight stay.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor; or
- One and one-half years of professional human services law enforcement or nursing experience; and a bachelors degree in social sciences behavioral sciences human services or a closely related field;or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes six months of professional human services law enforcement or nursing experience.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Schuylkill County. If no eligible candidates who live within Schuylkill County apply for this position candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police clearance PA Child Abuse history clearance and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
