Youll be an experienced Payroll Officer keen to work as part of a larger team on pay runs initiatives supporting our continuous improvement and payroll projects.

Your organisational skills in prioritising work meeting deadlines and working independently with high accuracy and attention to detail under pressure will be key.

Youll be passionate about delivering excellent customer service pro-actively responding to payroll enquiries and discrepancies.

What can you expect to be doing

As our Payroll Officer you will play a crucial role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time enabling them to focus on their essential work.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing and delivering timely and accurate payroll services in line with business and legislative requirements.
  • Working as a team to complete a fortnightly pay run.
  • Managing and maintaining the payroll system and operations according to policies procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Resolving payroll enquiries and discrepancies including correction pays and escalation when necessary.
  • Preparing and calculating payroll-related taxes work cover calculations deductions and other payments.
  • Onboarding new starters into payroll ensuring accurate information and paperwork are received.
  • Contributing to the review update and testing of payroll processes guidelines and systems.

What do you need to bring

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Proven proficiency and demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing and assisting with month and year-end tasks.
  • High-level data entry and report preparation skills.
  • Ability to deliver high-level customer service including managing payroll enquiries and discrepancies.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail to identify errors and make corrections.
  • Capacity to interpret and apply relevant Enterprise Agreements and Industrial Awards.
  • Proficiency in using computers and Microsoft products including Excel Word Outlook and other payroll packages.
  • Adaptable responsive and enjoy working as part of a team.
