Job Description

We invite applications for the temporary position of:
- 0.2 FTE Grades 8-12 Student Support Teacher
- Supporting Vanier students who reside on Hornby Island
- Contact day: Wednesday
The teacher will work to create hands-on learning opportunities which align with BC Curriculum support educational objectives and extend academic/social emotional growth. They will use various locations both indoors and outdoors throughout Hornby Island and the Comox Valley to utilize educational opportunities that exist in our communities. The position will facilitate multiple school trips throughout the year which will require the incumbent to be an enthusiastic participant in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Personalization of learning in multi-grade classrooms.
- Experience integrating technology digital portfolios blogs and websites to support Assessment for Learning.
- Skill and experience coordinating and integrating community-based programs.
