Overview
At CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy our focus is patient-centered care. Our level I trauma center and academic medical center campus is designed to heal the body mind and spirit of every person in a more comfortable less stressful hospital environment. Our full range of medical services includes trauma services heart and vascular care emergency services surgery maternity cancer care and diagnostic imaging.
Responsibilities
As a Department Support Assistant youll do a little bit of everything assisting in the office side of the healthcare field. Youll support a dedicated facility or department helping patients by directing them to the proper location of facilitating their communication. A great attitude and can-do spirit is a must for this high visibility position!
Some of what youll do:
- Answers all calls coming into the laboratory and assists or directs the caller to the correct person.
- Maintains laboratory supplies for Outreach Lab Customers.
- Maintains employee binders.
- Runs and resolves various reports for multiple areas of the Laboratory.
- Acts as the mail room distributor for the lab.
- Makes flyers training sheets and additional communication materials as needed.
- Keeps up with the employee phone list and departmental phone list.
- Edits and corrects billing information to ensure accurate billing process
- Communicate test results fax reporting process verbal orders and contact customers related billing or testing question.
- Follow up with patients or customers for any samples/tests in questions
Qualifications
Education/Licensure:
High School Diploma or GED is required.
1 year lab experience preferred.
