Job Description
In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager or designate and as part of a multidisciplinary health care team the Supervisor Pacemaker & Cardiology Technologist oversees the pacemaker and cardiology technologist testing procedure services including supervision of designated pacemaker and cardiology technologist staff planning and coordination of day to day activities maintenance and operation of equipment assisting staff and students ordering supplies and performing technical testing procedures. Using a personal computer and related software performs database functions including editing of electrocardiograms storage and retrieval of test and procedure records and related clerical duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Training And Experience
Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) specialty certification as a Pacemaker of a recognized Cardiology Technologist program at the diploma level and four (4) years recent related experience including one (1) year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
