Godown Incharge also known as a Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a warehouse ensuring efficient inventory management shipping and receiving and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. They also manage a team of warehouse staff ensuring they are trained motivated and performing their duties effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Maintaining accurate inventory records conducting cycle counts and resolving discrepancies.
Shipping and Receiving:
Overseeing the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse ensuring timely and accurate shipping and receiving processes.
Staff Management:
Hiring training and supervising warehouse staff providing feedback and coaching and ensuring they meet performance standards.
Safety:
Implementing and enforcing safety protocols conducting safety inspections and ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
Efficiency and Productivity:
Optimizing warehouse layout and processes identifying and implementing process improvements and maximizing efficiency.
Communication and Collaboration:
Communicating with other departments customers and suppliers and coordinating activities to ensure seamless operations.
Data Analysis:
Analyzing warehouse performance metrics identifying trends and using data to drive process improvements.
Compliance:
Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Reporting:
Maintaining accurate records preparing reports and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
