Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Systems Administrator to join our client s growing IT team. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the effective provisioning installation configuration operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This role ensures that system hardware operating systems software systems and related procedures adhere to organizational values enabling staff volunteers and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Install configure and maintain servers (physical and virtual) and operating systems (e.g. Windows Server Linux).
Manage and optimize network infrastructure including switches routers firewalls and VPNs.
Administer and support cloud environments (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud Platform) if applicable.
Ensure the security integrity and availability of all systems and data through regular backups security updates and monitoring.
Implement and maintain Active Directory Group Policy DNS DHCP and other core infrastructure services.
Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues for end-users and other IT staff.
Develop and maintain documentation for systems processes and procedures.
Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
Collaborate with other IT team members and departments on various projects.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role.
Strong experience with Windows
Proficiency in administering and troubleshooting Specific Network Technologies e.g. Cisco Meraki FortiGate.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware vSphere Microsoft Hyper-V).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure) is a plus.
Solid understanding of networking concepts (LAN WAN TCP/IP DNS DHCP VPN VLANs).
Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):
Relevant certifications (e.g. Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate CompTIA Server CCNA RHCSA).
Experience with scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell Python Bash).
Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks (e.g. ITIL).
Experience with specific database technologies e.g. SQL Server MySQL.
Experience with specific security tools/practices e.g. SIEM endpoint protection.
