Summary/Objective:
The Manager of Adult Education will coordinate the implementation of Adult Education programming: English Language and Literacy (ELL) Citizenship Preparation Digital Literacy and Financial Literacy. Working collaboratively with the Director of Family Literacy and other program staff the Manager will ensure that the design development and implementation of Adult Education courses are reflective of high-quality programming and represent the mission and values of Grace Place.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administration and Development: Assume primary responsibility for coordinating the implementation of high-quality effective Adult Education courses. Work collaboratively with course facilitators to support the provision of challenging and engaging classes with measurable outcomes for adults from a wide range of levels in English language and literacy skills. The Program Manager will oversee the coordination and management of the following:Family Literacy Bright Beginnings ESL coursesDaily Adult Education ESL small group classes
- Rosetta Stone English Language Computer Lab
- Annual Financial Literacy Workshop
- Other Adult Literacy Classes (i.e. Digital Literacy Citizenship Preparation)Facilitate partnerships with appropriate public and private agencies community groups and organizations that provide services to the students and accurate and thorough records needed for program administration and reporting.
- Oversee the logistical curriculum and material needs for Adult Education programming.
- Program inventory and ordering
- Program facilities and IT requests
- Direct support of program assistant and evening program assistant (i.e. annual performance review)
Adult Students:
- Coordinate the retention recruitment assessment (CASAS) and placement of students.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with students about student progress needs and Ed student communications
- All student and volunteer technical training for virtual classes
- Classroom formation (both returning and new classes)
- Oversee new student and returning student registrations
- Volunteer Teachers:
- Provide support needed to aid in the preparation and facilitation of dynamic Adult Education classes.
- Work collaboratively with volunteer teachers to help establish vibrant teacher-student relationships in order to foster strong commitment and retention of students and volunteer teachers.
- Maintain frequent contact with volunteer teachers to provide effective communication management and support.
- Adult Ed Volunteer communications Reminders about meetings check ins on classes general support
- Adult Ed volunteer hours management for virtual volunteers
Evaluation Outcomes Reporting and Funding:
- Coordinate the implementation of timely and effective evaluations and outcome reporting that demonstrate student progress and program impact.
- Oversee the entry of program inputs (i.e. attendance assessments etc.) into the organizations database.
- Implement any applicable Grace Place state county and grant-related policies and regulations.

- Troubleshooting
- Adult Ed ETO program supportAndAssist in the coordination and implementation of organization-wide Family Literacy Days.
- Performs any other duties or responsibilities as requested.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelors degree preferably with emphasis in education TESOL or a related field.
Experience:
- At least three years of experience in a teaching administrative or managerial capacity in an organization that provides direct services to adult learners preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Bi-lingual English and Spanish required.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse cultures and populations and ability to communicate effectively preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel use of the internet and basic computer skills sufficient to maintain program records and budgets generate publicity materials and communicate with parents volunteers partners and community.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to the mission and core values of Grace Place.
- Demonstrated project management and planning skills.
- Possession of a valid Florida driver license.
- Current first aid and CPR certificates (can obtain within 90 days of employment).
- Willing to submit to Fingerprinting and Background Checks.
- Compliance with Good Moral Character as descried by DCF.

- Work Environment: Position requires working in numerous locations which include varied temperature noise level and other factors that may affect a persons working conditions while performing the job.
- Position Type and Expected Working Hours: Full-time regular exempt
- Physical Demands: Bending sitting and standing for long periods of time. May require lifting objects weighing up to 20 lbs. as needed.
