Summary Description:

We are seeking a 508 Compliance and Accessibility Analyst (CA Analyst) to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions by ensuring that digital content systems and tools are compliant with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and related accessibility standards such as Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Section 508 and the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ideal candidate will have accessibility expertise technical analytical and problem-solving skills and be a team player who can work in a highly collaborative environment. The primary responsibility of the CA Analyst will be to analyze the accessibility of electronic files (Microsoft Office applications PDFs and websites etc.) and document and implement as needed remediation to ensure they offer equal access to all users including those with disabilities. Other responsibilities may include but not be limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders (business teams product owners developers QA) to gather project requirements and translate them into clear actionable specifications user stories or system requirements.
  • Partner with developers designers and content creators to integrate accessibility into workflows and deliverables.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum processes contributing to team improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze and prioritize requirements to align with business goals and project objectives.
  • Liaise between technical and non-technical teams to resolve requirement ambiguities.
  • Evaluate software applications for functionality performance accessibility and user experience compliance.
  • Support testing (including UAT) by verifying accurate implementation of requirements.
  • Validate accessibility using assistive technologies (e.g. screen readers keyboard navigation tools.)
  • Train staff on creating accessible content and using accessibility tools in Microsoft Office and PDF software.
  • Remain current on accessibility standards tools and best practices to maintain compliance.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining accessibility policies standards and guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in information systems IT (Management Engineering Math or related field) or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Section 508 WCAG 2.1 ADA compliance and accessibility testing tools (e.g. WAVE Axe NVDA JAWS).
  • Minimum of five years of experience with IT systems analysis design testing and/or administration (e.g. facilities planning storage servers databases websites web applications LAN user support).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint) Adobe Acrobat and web accessibility evaluation tools.
  • Hands-on experience remediating electronic files (e.g. PDFs with Adobe Acrobat Pro Microsoft Office documents) for accessibility compliance.
  • Knowledge of HTML CSS ARIA and web accessibility standards.
  • Experience with requirement analysis tools (e.g. JIRA Confluence Visio) and methodologies (e.g. Agile Waterfall).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on accessibility solutions.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for Public Trust clearance.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience in 508 compliance business analysis requirements gathering or a similar role (industry-specific experience is a plus.)
  • Experience with Business Process Improvement initiatives.
  • Experience navigating federal regulations etc.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in identifying and fixing accessibility issues.
  • Passion for accessibility and inclusivity with a commitment to improving digital accessibility for all users.
