Position Overview

Now Hiring! Assistant Coach for Mens Lacrosse

Buffalo NY

Part Time

Canisius University invites interested and qualified persons to apply for the position of part-time Assistant Coach for Mens Lacrosse. Canisius is a member of the Division I Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Assistant Coach reports to the Head Coach. This is a part-time 12 month position.

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct and evaluate well-prepared student-athletes.
  • Organize and execute individual skill instruction for players-including tumbling instruction.
  • Assist with academic advisement monitoring and development of student-athletes.
  • Recruit qualified student athletes for Canisius University Mens Lacrosse.
  • Assist with team travel and recruiting trip arrangements.
  • Assist with coordinating official and unofficial visits written correspondence and telephone communications.
  • Ensure the Mens Lacrosse program is administered with constant commitment to compliance with all institutional conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelors degree is required.
  • Playing and/or coaching experience at the Division I level is preferred.
  • Prior Mens Lacrosse experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is preferred.
  • Previous experience supervising communicating with and instructing student-athletes is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of student-athletes parents coaches and administrators.
  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers license with a positive driving record per the universitys insurance provider (or upon moving to NYS obtain a NYS drivers license within NYS DMV residency guidelines after hire).

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary: $15000.00 annually

Please note that the compensation information is a good faith estimate of the base pay for this position. The selected candidates actual base pay will be based on job-related non-discriminatory factors including experience. Information about the total compensation package for this position will be provided during the interview process.
