Radio-Canada Qubec is seeking a videojournalist to be based in its Quebec City station. You will report to the Senior Manager News and Programming. We are looking for a skilled individual who can develop news and community-focused stories and who can propose prepare and present content that particularly resonates with the 18-to-35 age group on the Info app and all other Radio-Canada platforms. As a videojournalist you will need to capture footage using your phone and present it in vertical and other formats as required.
You should be creative resourceful thorough and highly independent. Adhering to CBC/Radio-Canadas Journalistic Standards and Practices you will need to demonstrate an excellent ability to make information accessible and apply digital best practices. You must also be able to work effectively under pressure conduct your own research as well as gather package and present your material confidently across all platforms.
You will work a variable schedule and must be capable of travelling across your entire coverage area. You will bring original ideas and solutions to our news programs and have demonstrated skills in producing reports for our newscasts.
You may be asked to cover stories for our other platforms and will have to work flexible hours.
What you bring:
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent
Three (3) years journalism experience or equivalent
At least two (2) years relevant on-air experience (hosting producing video stories writing digital articles and doing live radio hits)
Skills:
Solid reporting skills
Good knowledge of the Adobe Premiere editing suite
Comfortable and dynamic on-air presence
Excellent interviewing skills
Ability to write clearly and concisely
Ability to generate original story ideas and creative treatments
Ability to work in a high-pressure tight-deadline environment often in unexpected overtime situations
Flexibility to work regularly for radio shows national television and digital platforms
Valid drivers licence
Creative problem-solving skills
Strong ability to generate ideas be self-motivated and distil complex information
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to speak both English and French
