The General Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the New and Pre-Owned vehicle sales departments managing the sales team achieving sales goals maintaining customer satisfaction and ensuring operational efficiency across the showroom floor.
Team Leadership:
Recruit train and manage the sales team (Sales Consultants Internet Sales and potentially Finance Managers).
Motivate and coach staff to meet or exceed sales targets.
Sales Performance:
Set monthly quarterly and yearly sales goals.
Track KPIs like unit sales gross profit PVR (per vehicle retailed) and closing ratios.
Monitor inventory and aging reports to ensure proper turn rate.
Customer Experience:
Ensure the team delivers a premium buying experience in line with Acura brand standards.
Handle escalated customer issues and work to resolve them efficiently.
Marketing and Inventory:
Collaborate with the Marketing team to create effective advertising campaigns.
Work closely with the inventory manager to ensure the lot is stocked with high-demand vehicles.
Participate in factory ordering and allocation planning.
F&I and Compliance:
Oversee the Finance & Insurance (F&I) department performance.
Ensure all transactions comply with federal state and dealership regulations.
Reporting:
Provide regular sales reports to the General Manager or Dealer Principal.
Forecast sales trends and adjust business plans accordingly.
Automotive sales management experience (typically 35 years).
Strong leadership negotiation and communication skills.
Proficient with CRM/DMS systems (e.g. Eleads CDK Firstlook).
In-depth understanding of Acura brand positioning and customer demographics.
Results-driven mindset with strong financial and analytical skills.
