Primary Purpose
Assist the Business Manager in maintaining compliant purchasing procedures and processes.
Qualifications
Education/Certification
- High School Diploma or GED
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Application Suite (Word Excel etc.)
- Competent in navigating the internet and use of on-line tools
- Moderate writing and editing skills preferred
- Excellent communication skills with vendors and employees
Experience
- At least one year experience as an Administrative Assistant preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Become proficient in required purchasing guidelines
- Oversee approval process and update as needed for vendors used throughout the district
- Maintain vendor list and documentation
- Maintain updated State & Federal Grants Manual Accounting Procedures Notebook and Travel Guidelines as changes are approved by the Business Manager
- Facilitate competitive procurement where necessary or as directed
- Complete district credit applications
- Assist with or facilitate any necessary online ordering at the district level
- Maintain mandatory government filings related to procurement
- Work with purchasing cooperatives to facilitate purchases
- Over time develop centralized purchasing of items used throughout the district
- Develop and oversee asset inventory process
- Work with other business office processes as needed
