Skills And Experiences

About the role

We are currently seeking a Senior Paediatric Speech Pathologist for a Full Time (or 0.8FTE) position. We also offer a hybrid model of working which is a combination of workingfrom home meeting with consumers in their natural surroundings or within our offices in Berwick Narre Warren Cranbourne and / or Pakenham.

As a Windermere Paediatric Speech Pathologist you will manage a caseload and:

  • deliver a broad range of evidence informed intervention strategies standardised assessments and parent training to increase communication and active participation in social and educational settings for children;
  • undertake face to face consultation and relationship building in natural environments schools and kindergartens as well as our modern office facilities and therapy spaces;
  • liaise and collaborate with a transdisciplinary team to design and deliver comprehensive support plans; and
  • Provide key worker support and advice to families and children in relation to speaking listening understanding language fluency and social skills.
  • Provide discipline specific assessment and intervention to children aged 0-12 years and their family with a range of disabilities.

As Windermere is a not-for-profit organisation employees are able to claim everyday living expenses up to $15900 against their annual Pre-Tax Salary. See example below and note this depends on your individual circumstances:

Annual Salary (up to) - $114362.13 without Salary Packaging this is the equivalent comparative salary in the job market to $121629.00 (including $15900 Salary Packaging)

Technical Skills & Professional Experience:
You will have a tertiary qualification within Speech Pathology and hold a current registration with Speech Pathology Australia. Furthermoreyou will have specialist knowledge and relevant demonstrated experience within a paediatric practice.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualified in Speech Pathology with current and ongoing registration with Speech Pathology Australia with a minimum of 4 years experiencing managing supervising and leading staff.
  • Knowledge and experience to assess children from 0 to 12 with a variety of clinical and developmental needs such as autism spectrum disorder cerebral palsy Down Syndrome and global developmental delay.
  • Knowledge and skills in intervention and evaluation of services for children and families.
  • Build trusting working relationships with both children and families in addition to the Early Intervention and Therapy Service team.
  • Openness to continuous quality improvement that allows ongoing leaning and growth as part of a high performing team.
  • Knowledge in the assessment and prescription of assistive technology to support communication needs.
  • Ability to manage own caseload to meet consumer needs and organisational KPIs.
  • A current Victorian Drivers Licence as this role involves outreach visits including school kinder and home sessions.
  • Willingness to promote and support practices that are inclusive culturally responsive safe and accessible.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant pre-employment screening and checks - including NDIS Worker Screening Check Police Check Pre-Employment Medical and Working with Children Check.
  • Right to Work in Australia e.g. Australian Citizen Permanent Resident or Visa holder with full working rights.
