About the role:

This is a 12 month maximum term contract opportunity is now available for an experienced SQL Database Administrator to join our Group Solutions team in either Sydney or Melbourne.

This key role is responsible for the recoverability integrity security availability and performance of Avants database systems; involved in development and maintenance of software. The Database Administrator will perform operational DBA and application DBA work to help support our Application Services team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide database management and administration; design implement and maintain database management plans for all production SQL server databases as well as Oracle databases when required;
  • Provide production development and testing support of database systems;
  • Provide database and application support as well as assistance and technical expertise to GTS staff.

Skills and experience required:

  • Degree in information technology computer science or similar; DBA certification highly regarded
  • Experience with all aspects of Relational Database Modelling and entity-relationship diagrams
  • Exposure to Oracle Database Administration highly desirable
  • Microsoft SQL serverand cloud databases
  • Microsoft SSIS and DTS desirable
  • Microsoft T-SQL programming
  • Microsoft reporting services desirable
  • IBM Cognos desirable
  • Oracle 11g or later
  • Microsoft Windows 2012 server
