The Boeing CompanyThe Payloads Organization within Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Associate Payloads Design Engineer (Level 2) to join our SoCal Interiors Responsibility Center Team based in Long Beach CA.
As a Design Engineer you will contribute in the development and release of interior components. Your work will include interacting with teams in the following fields: Project and production engineering program/product teams management and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions.
Position Responsibilities:
Assists to develop integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
Develops maintains and modifies basic structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods to provide product definition to other engineering groups production operations suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Assists with supplier development test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
Works under general supervision.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science.
2 years of experience in engineering including design integration and/or certification.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Previous Payloads (Interiors) experience.
Experience with CATIA ENOVIA and PDM.
