Job Description
CLASS TITLE: Chief of Police Department CLASS CODE: 7821
REPORTS TO: Chief Operations Officer/Superintendent EXEMPT STATUS: Exempt
BASIC FUNCTION:
Direct and manage the CCPS Police Department by coordinating the daily operations to provide a safe environment. Maintain all laws and the districts policies directives and procedures.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Direct the operations of the CCPS Police Department to ensure effective law enforcement and coordinate activities with other staff
- Collaborate with county/city first responders to create a crisis management plan
- Assists with individual campus security planning security management and crisis operational procedures; provides immediate response to crises
- Coordinate enforcement activities with others and work cooperatively to develop and implement preventative security programs management plans and other safety programs
- Coordinate with the district security provider resolving problems and making recommendations for improved services and maintain all issued equipment and wear uniform as required
- Demonstrate punctuality professionalism appropriate appearance and consistent reliable attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designee
