What this job involves
This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing various building systems and equipment including electrical components HVAC/R systems plumbing and automation equipment. You will provide essential technical support for facility operations troubleshoot issues and perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal functionality of building infrastructure and specialized equipment.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Maintaining lighting systems including bulb and ballast replacement and electrical troubleshooting
- Performing maintenance and repairs on HVAC/R equipment motors pumps and plumbing systems
- Supporting and troubleshooting automated systems including conveyors sortation equipment and PLC components
- Conducting preventative maintenance on rooftop units refrigeration auto/overhead doors and food equipment
- Maintaining and troubleshooting technical equipment such as scanners printers scales networks and UPS systems
- Participating in on-call rotation to respond to after-hours emergency situations
- Documenting work activities maintaining compliance with safety procedures and handling hazardous materials properly
Desired experience and technical skills
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid state drivers license
- Electrical hands-on experience and troubleshooting (480V 3-phase 110 VAC and 24VDC systems)
- Ability to identify maintain and troubleshoot motor controls and standard electrical components
- Experience with food service equipment maintenance
- Strong reasoning analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
- Physical capabilities: lifting 80 lbs using ladders up to 30 ft frequent climbing bending and kneeling
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently or in team environments
- Flexibility with work hours and days (7 days a week operation including holidays)
Preferred:
- Completion of applicable technical training program with minimum one year experience in building repair maintenance plumbing and electrical work
- Systems controls knowledge or programming experience
- EPA Certification (Type 1 2 or Universal)
- Experience with UPS components and troubleshooting
- Experience with advanced automation controls systems
- UST Class B Certification
