Inventory Specialist Curriculum Materials
Reports To: Assistant Superintendent and Curriculum Coordinator
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and a minimum of three years of demonstrated operational and systems management experience; OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Background in logistics facilities and warehouse operations or records management.
- Knowledge of barcoding systems and database tools beyond Google Sheets is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates Degree preferred or equivalent experience as deemed appropriate by the Board of Education
- Demonstrated aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities
- Proficiency tests may be included in the interview process
General Description: The Norwich Public Schools is seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Inventory Specialist to design implement and manage a digital inventory system for tracking curriculum materials across the district. This role requires expertise in Google Workspace tools (Sheets Forms Drive) and the ability to integrate QR code technology for efficient material tracking and retrieval. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring all educational resources are accounted for easily accessible and properly maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a comprehensive electronic inventory system for curriculum materials using Google workspace tools.
- Develop a user-friendly inventory database linked with Google Forms for real-time updates and check-ins/check-outs.
- Create and manage QR codes for labeling and scanning curriculum materials ensuring quick access to item records and locations.
- Coordinate with curriculum teams office staff and district administrators to track inventory distribution usage and returns of all educational materials.
- Create a system to maintain accurate records of inventory levels location condition and usage of materials.
- Create a system to conduct periodic audits and generate inventory reports to identify replacements needed items on shelves items distributed.
- Train staff on the use of the digital inventory system and best practices for material handling and documentation.
- Collaborate with IT and Facilities departments to ensure smooth integration of QR tools and digital access points.
- Provide training to Academic Office staff for utilization during curriculum rollouts textbook adoptions and material redistribution.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets Forms Docs Drive).
- Experience creating or managing digital inventory systems including building formulaic structures in software for inventory management.
- Working knowledge of QR code generation and scanning tools (e.g. QR Code Monkey Google add-ons mobile scanning apps).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple school sites.
- Comfortable with technology and able to train others.

Terms of Employment: Temporary Part-time Project Specific to start immediately
Salary: Competitive hourly rate based on experience
