About the Opportunity

Northeasterns Burlington Innovation Campusis seeking individuals passionate about advancing new scientific technologies in the Biotech space with a particular emphasis onCell and Gene Therapy. TheBiopharmaceutical Analysis Training Laboratory (BATL)are actively developing cutting-edge workflows for Cell and Gene Therapy processes and additional staff support is needed to assist senior scientists in fully building out these innovations.

Our labs focus on research projects aimed at transforming current practices incell isolationvector manufacturing andadvanced characterization. We are dedicated to evaluating the value of emerging technologies such asAI/MLfor both academia and industry and providing critical support to bridge identified gaps.

Candidates should be flexible adaptable and comfortable working in an interdisciplinary environment. Daily activities will involve a combination ofwet-bench experimentationinstrumentation operation andhands-on workforce trainingwith the equipment and techniques central to our research.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute and adhere to all safety protocol relating to a laboratory including handling of hazardous biological agents and chemicals as well as potentially hazardous chemicals; hazard clean-up as well as universal precautions and infection control procedures
  • Maintain complete and accurate lab quality control procedures and the follow through of OSHA and other safety guidelines
  • Follow the laboratorys procedures for specimen handling and processing test analyses reporting and maintaining records of patient test results
  • Adhere to the laboratorys quality control policies document all quality control activities instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed
  • Follow the laboratorys established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratorys established acceptable levels of performance
  • Perform scientific literature reviews of analytical protocols and writing summaries of findings
  • Operate multiple types of instrumentation (HPLC LCMS FT-IR RAMAN Gel electrophoresis wave rockers cell counters flow cytometry Counterflow centrifugation Magnetic separators and electroporation) with protocols under development
  • Train and oversee partners volunteers and students on basic lab bench skills and developed training content
  • Work isolation T-cells and modifying them as well manufacturing AAV vectors.
  • Become proficient on multiple pieces of instrumentation in supported online tracking systems
  • Comfortable balancing work across multiple projects (at least three) following priorities given by a supervisor
  • Maintain inventory of samples in inventory management software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Physics Chemistry Biology or equivalent. Experienced candidates with a high school diploma will be considered.
  • Skills in micro pipetting solution preparation and dilutions.
  • Ability to work with third party software applications to analyze data and to interface with different pieces of instrumentation.
  • Experience in the following areas:
    • Teaching and training across multiple levels of experience and education
    • Experience with Flow cytometery
    • Prior work with AAV vector generation
    • Familiarity with CTS Rotea Counterflow Centrifugation Gibco CTS DynaCellect Magnetic Separation and Neon NxT Electroporation Systems.
    • Unicorn software to operate different pieces of equipment
    • Handling of mammalian cell lines bacterial cells and human samples
    • Native and PTM Mass Spec analytics
    • Proteomics
    • Sequencing on multiple platforms
    • Navigating inventory management software
    • Working with XR (AR/VR) hardware and development of digital content
