Job Description

Oral Surgery Assistant (Traveling)

Salary: $15 per hour (depending on experience)
Compensation for Travel

*Must have reliable transportation Must be able to travel up to 100% of the time.

To be an asset to the team you will get the opportunity to:

  • Greet and prepare patients for dental care
  • Learn how to place IV Sedations
  • Assist chairside for oral surgeon
  • Help dentist in administering sedation medications
  • Monitor patients before during and after oral surgery procedures
  • Capture quality x-ray images
  • Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
  • Set up and breakdown treatment rooms
  • Provide patients with instructions for oral care
  • Learn to independently provide teeth polishing and sealant procedures

Qualifications of those who have been successful in this role:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Dental Assisting: 2 years
  • Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) Certification: 1 year
  • CPR Certified
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and dental procedures
  • Knowledge of front and back office procedures
  • Familiar with Open Dental Software preferred
  • Familiar with Sterilization
  • Familiar with OSHA guidelines and procedures
  • Current Certification to monitor Nitrous Oxide preferred
  • Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact preferred
