Job Description

Position Summary
This part-time 9-month position is designed to provide writing and academic support for La Salle University student-athletes to improve their writing skills across various disciplines focusing on clarity grammar and critical thinking. As a member of the Academic Support for Student Athletes team the role will focus on delivering targeted academic interventions to enhance the academic performance of student-athletes across all varsity teams with particular emphasis on supporting at-risk students. The position involves one-on-one assistance for students who request help and those referred by faculty or professional staff. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Required Qualifications
A bachelors degree that enhances the individuals ability to assist students. Minimum of 3 years of teaching or tutoring experience preferably at the college level. Proven ability to teach the skills and strategies to help students become active and independent learners. Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.

Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree Experience working in higher education. Experience working with non-native English speakers and those with learning differences.
