Job Description

Job Summary
TSC does not sponsor work visas The Campus Technician position requires a blend of technical expertise leadership skills and a commitment to customer service. The role will interface with the outsourced I.T. technical help desk staff to respond to help desk tickets and provide end-user technical support to internal staff with a focus on hardware/software repair including Dell desktops and laptops Windows and MacOS operating systems Microsoft O365 and other business-critical software applications. The Campus Technician responds to staff requests for technology equipment support and supplies performs repairs on equipment and assists with inventory. They will request and attain hardware/software quotes from vendors as required. The role may develop and provide instructional documentation to end-users for supported hardware/software as required. The position troubleshoots and repairs technology equipment as well as installs modifies and makes minor repairs to microcomputer hardware and software systems and provides technical assistance/training to system users. The Campus Technician supports Audio Visual equipment on campus as well as digital signage. This position reports to the User Services Coordinator the Technical Director and ultimately the Vice President of Information Technology.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Completes scheduled technology setups; ensures equipment is in good operating condition Ensures correct software firmware and updates are done to the integrated systems Experienced in installing audiovisualcontrol systems including video conferencing systems cabling and terminating video/audio systems and equipment rack fabrication Provides system testing and troubleshooting expertise on highend A/V integrated control systems (i.e. Extron/Crestron) Responds to emergency calls for assistance/performs repairs/adjustments on equipment Responds to faculty and administrative requests for technology support; provides AV orientation to faculty and clients using the technology so they can utilize it effectively Assists with maintaining inventory of all campus technology equipment Assists with the installation and preparation of technology for events Assists with equipment troubleshooting maintenance and research Responsible for maintaining the schedule of campus events related to technology Assists the Educational Technology and Online Learning technicians as required Inspects computer equipment and reads order sheet listing user requirements to prepare computer for delivery Installs or assists service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as monitors keyboards printers and disk drives on users premises Loads specified software packages such as operating systems word processing or spreadsheet programs into computer Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation Instructs user in use of equipment software and manuals Answers clients inquiries in person and via telephone concerning systems operation Diagnoses system hardware software and operator problems Assists with scheduling requests for equipment and software for classrooms. Available during flexible schedules as periodically required (late business days starts weekends) Supports the standard configuration of hardware and software for the college Provides first tier analysis of network related issues as required Provides security related information to the Chief Information Security Officer as required Provides support related reporting to the Technical Director and/or the Vice President of Information Technology as required Works On-Call as required Works flex hours and weekends as required Demonstrates professional and ethical behavior at all times. Other duties as assigned.
