Job Description

TITLE: ICAPS-Bridge-Transitions (IBT) Specialist

LOCATION: Urbana Adult Education Center

SUPERVISOR: Director of Adult Education

SUPERVISES: Not Applicable

JOB SUMMARY: Create and market ICAPS (IET) and Bridge courses for adult education students. Collect analyze and present students career pathway data. Establish community and business partnerships. Assist students with transitions to post-secondary education and/or employment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and obtain approval for ICAPS and Bridge courses.
  • Collect students data related to their chosen career pathway specific career goals and employment/readiness skills.
  • Maintain Urbana Adult Education Centers website and social media accounts.
  • Create marketing materials for ICAPS and Bridge courses.
  • Teach at least one section of ICAPS/Bridge courses each session.
  • Market all Urbana Adult Education programming.
  • Build partnerships with community organizations businesses and trade unions.
  • Assist students with college applications FAFSA and post-graduation plans.
  • Prepare an annual report on post-adult education plans for all students.
  • Collaborate with staff to better understand and meet the needs of all students.
  • Make yourself a visible body in school by participating in a variety of activities that contribute to the schools effectiveness.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and growth.
  • Develop and facilitate student internship opportunities.
  • Assist with student recruitment enrollment orientation retention and assessment efforts as necessary.



QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

  • Minimum of Bachelors degree preferably in education or a social service field. Experience working with young adults from various backgrounds. Experience teaching youth employment skills and assisting them in seeking and maintaining employment and/or transitioning to post-secondary education is preferred.

Terms of Employment:

  • Pay rate approximately $30.00/hour; commensurate with experience and education
  • This is a NON-EXEMPT non-bargaining unit non-administrative position
  • HOURS: 8 hours per day (32 hours/week)

  • SCHEDULE: Monday-Thursday;July 23 2025 through March 31 2026

EVALUATION: To be completed annually by the Director using a district-approved evaluation instrument.
