1.00 FTE Anticipated Middle School Mathematic Teacher7th/8th Grade
Location: Williston Central School
Champlain Valley School District has a 1.0 FTE math positions open for the 2025-2026 school year.
A Middle School license is preferred with mathematics and one additional content area.
Responsibilities will include:
- Working as a member of a collaborative middle level team with approximately 70 students
- Teaching math to 7th & 8th grade students
- Tracking formative and summative assessment data to increase student learning
- Facilitating advisory building relationships and monitoring a core group of students
- Instructing and assessing students using a proficiency based learning model
- Collaborating with grade level math colleagues
Important candidate qualities include:
- Strong math content knowledge and experience teaching math
- Understanding of the Mathematics Common Core State Standards
- Belief in a growth mindset
- Use of math practices that create equity metacognition and multiple pathways
- Ability to form strong relationships with students
- Strong organizational skills
- Flexibility and problem-solving abilities
- Skill in classroom management
- Solid oral and written communication skills
- Ability to embed technology into instruction
- Exemplary work ethic with high level of dedication to the profession
- Values strong parent communication and collaboration
