Job Overview
We are looking for a Sr Manager of Product Design eCommerce who will manage a team of UX Designers to develop innovative and engaging digital products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading user-centered design activities and managing teams that do UX work related to eCommerce experiences across native app and web platforms. The Sr. Manager of Product Design will partner with business product and Marketing cross-functional teams to understand strategic initiatives goals and objectives to shape the scope and requirements and to champion the user needs.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategy:

  • Contribute to the creation and evolution of design principles guidelines and patterns.
  • Establish evolve and evangelize design strategy across the company.
  • Communicate best practices for design and reasoning behind UX decisions to key stakeholders

User Experience:

  • Provides constructive feedback on peer designs.
  • Work across functional teams to understand business and feature requirements.
  • Work with user researchers and stakeholders to understand user needs and requirements and business goals to inform impactful solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT partner teams to understand the technical possibilities and constraints.
  • Work with User Researchers and other Designers to maintain consistency across the digital ecosystem and solve cross-application design challenges.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with highly technical teams and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assess and optimize the performance of new and existing features by conducting/participating in usability testing and interpreting analytics data.
  • Demonstrate a high level of accountability initiative flexibility and the ability to manage workload and achieve results.
  • Drive high-impact user-centered solutions for eCommerce journeys including product discovery checkout and post-purchase experiences on native apps and the web

Relationship and People Management

  • Oversee and manage a team of Product Designers.
  • Collaborate with other team leads in continuously evolving team process to better serve the teams needs.
  • Build credibility with stakeholders management peers direct reports and executives to drive cross-functional alignment.
  • Provide feedback and direction to ensure intuitive and innovative solutions and drive consistency following established design principles guidelines and patterns.
  • Educate the UX and product on the importance of following a user-centered design process.
  • Effectively manage team to achieve results by providing appropriate direction timely developmental feedback and coaching and conducting performance reviews and conversations.
  • Interview and hire qualified team members striving to improve T-Mobile bench strength and augmenting product or project teams with contract staff when required.
  • Support team in creating training and career development plans and ensures assignments with increasing levels of responsibility are given to staff.
  • Provide coaching and direction to the team that drives action and enables achievement of performance and operational goals.


Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 6 years of experience in user experience design
  • 4 years of direct people management skills
  • Knowledge of design and research process and strategy
  • Previous experience in product technology or digital function highly preferred
  • Strong experience in designing and delivering eCommerce solutions for native apps and web required
  • Experience leading teams working with product or business teams from roadmapping through delivery
  • Collaboration and cross-functional leadership

    Base Pay Range: $137100 - $247400

    Corporate Bonus Target: 20%

    The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidates actual pay will be based on various factors such as work location qualifications and experience so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

    At T-Mobile employees in regular non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employees eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
