Job Description
Primary Purpose:
To assist the physical education teacher in organizing and operating the physical education program.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or
- GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to communicate effectively
Experience:
- Experience working with children preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist the physical education teacher in developing a program of activities in the school which will meet the following objectives; physical fitness; motor skills; knowledge of rules and strategy; socialization of individuals; appreciation of physical activity.
- Assist in the care and proper storage of game equipment.
- Inspect playground equipment for safety in operation.
- Supervise games and activities.
- Exemplify high standards of ethical conduct.
- Display tolerance necessary for accepting supervision for and criticism of job performance.
- Work in harmony with supervisory faculty and peer personnel.
- Support and follow administrative and Board policy.
- Represent the school system to the community in a positive professional way.
- Maintain a sincere friendly attitude toward patrons.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
