Job Description

Position Overview:The Central Falls School District seeks to hire a talented knowledgeable and highly innovative certified educator to fill the position of PK Special Educator for Self Contained 2-sessions for the 2025-2026 school year. All CFSD educators are expected to carry out the Districts core values of EQUITY EMPOWERMENT and EXCELLENCE as they work towards building relationships with students/colleagues delivering personalized high-quality instruction cultivating strong partnerships with our families and community and meeting all position expectations and District policies. Certified staff is expected to abide by the Rhode Island Professional Teaching Standards and the CFSD/CFTU collective bargaining agreement policies and procedures. Guided by the Districts Strategic Plan we strive to prepare all students for success!JOB DESCRIPTION:The Special Education Self Contained Teacher will work in partnership with parents students and staff members including other special education teachers and administrators to promote overall student achievements by maintaining a positive learning environment that will continuously promote the academic social and personal well-being of all daily instruction based on the Rhode Island Early Learning Standards the Central Falls School Districts Curriculum and each assigned Students Individualized Education Program (IEP).Will Implement develop and manage students and all of their provided services including assigned Individualized Education Program (IEP) in accordance with all State and Federal and RESPONSIBILITIES: Including but not limited to:Collaborate as part of a teaching team in a collaborative model with a teaching assistant(S) and other personnel as indicated by student needs and/or IEPs in addition to being part of his/her grade level team. Cooperatively plan teach and engage as part of a team with other and implement a compelling vision of the curriculum teaching and learning standards and practices that align with Rhode Island Early Learning Standards. Implement curricula including but not limited to district-mandated curricula instructional practices and assessments that are culturally the needs of students in various educational environments as indicated per IEP to support them in meeting grade-level standards. Collaborates with students families and educational teams to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with Federal and State the case manager you will coordinate and implement service delivery with related services providers support staff other special educators and building administrators. Coordinate evaluations progress reports and timelines with related service providers support staff and building two-way communication to engage parents/guardians as critical partners before during and after the team new approaches and strategies for learning and teaching that are evidence-based student-centered and focused on improving performance especially for students with special instructional materials that coordinate with district curricula to implement instruction that addresses students goals and language needs while providing access to grade-level content. Maintain a positive learning environment that promotes the academic social and personal well-being of all students. Maintain and use adaptive/assistive technology as and implement classroom and curricular accommodations and modifications for students including WIDA-based language development adaptations for progress maintain documentation monitor student learning/progress and report as specified in the plan (MTSS 504 Service IEP etc) which includes utilizing district wide assessments like Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG).Follow all RIDE regulations related to MLL Students with Disabilities including determining if MLLs with disabilities are eligible to continue as MLL or to exit from their MLL status and completing and distributing all related all academic goals plans activities and actions on what is best for the practice a growth mindset demonstrating a strong class culture and using feedback to reflect and set stewardship of collaborative learning and leadership in and out of the classroom integrating tools strategies and suggestions with the ultimate goal of distributing knowledge and expertise in a skillful way that empowers and engages colleagues and consistent and timely communications with families to discuss student performance attendance progress etc. via phone calls emails written correspondence and home visits as duties deemed necessary by the building administrator or Director of Student Services.
