VHIR offers a vacant position for a Graduated technician to join a project focused on conducting preclinical tests of new gene therapy-based therapeutic strategies aimed to inhibit the expression of the hepatitis B (HBV) and delta (HDV) viruses in collaboration with the Microbiology group (Liver Diseases-viral hepatitis group).
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelors Degree in Biosciences (biotechnology biochemistry biology...)
- Formation in Translational Biomedical Research (Masters Degree or similar).
- Fluency in Catalan Spanish and English.
Desired:
- Having completed studies or training stays abroad.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Experience in bacterial and cellular cultures.
- Previous experience with plasmid isolation and cell transfection experiments.
- Experience in viral stock production and performing in vitro infection experiments.
- Previous experience in spectral flow cytometry.
- Experience using qPCR and digital PCR for nucleic acid quantification.
Desired:
- Knowledge about animal experimentation.
- Additional experience in cell biology such as experience with primary cells and 3D culture.
- Experience in DNA sequencing techniques.
- Having previously participated in research projects and/or scientific publications related to research lines focused on HBV or HDV molecular and/or cellular biology (they must be cited in the CV).
Main responsibilities and duties:
- Viral stock production for performing in vitro infection experiments.
- Cells culture infection and small molecules transfection.
- Liver organoids development and maintenance.
- Evaluation of protein release from infected cells through ELISA test and electrochemiluminescence.
- Analyze the results and collaborate in the elaboration of scientific abstracts and/or publications.
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: 1st July 2025.
- Gross annual salary: 25.440 euros (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale).
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities.
