Our flagship software platform Valkyrie brings advanced autonomy and swarm technology to UAVs enabling multiple drones to collaborate seamlessly adapt to complex missions and perform with greater independence. Your Role: Build the Future of Documentation
At Six Robotics we believe world-class technology deserves world-class documentation. As we scale Valkyrie our autonomous drone swarm platform were making an early and intentional investment in how users understand adopt and succeed with our products. Thats why were hiring our first Technical Writer & Documentation Engineer to build a scalable intuitive and user-centered documentation system from the ground up.
This role goes far beyond writing manuals. Youll design and implement a living documentation platform combining structured guides with live data interactive tools embedded testing and dynamic content to make Valkyrie clear accessible and reliable for mission-critical users.
Youll become a Valkyrie superuser translating complex systems into clear actionable resources. In the early stages youll also work directly with customers to support onboarding and gather insights that improve both the product and the documentation. As we grow youll help shape our Customer Success and Field Application Engineering functions and define what great technical communication looks like at Six.
What Youll Do
- Design build and maintain a modern documentation platform for Valkyrie using tools like Sphinx with custom integrations as needed.
- Develop and manage content enriched with live data interactive tools and 3D visualizations.
- Enable multi-format publishing (web PDF localized versions) with automation and version control for consistency and scale.
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure documentation stays accurate testable and aligned with the product.
- Act as a superuser and early field expert supporting onboarding and gathering insights from key users and partners.
- Help define documentation standards and contribute to the foundation of our future Customer Success and FAE functions.
Who Were Looking For
Were looking for someone whos already operated technical documentation systems and who thrives in ambiguity. Youre not just a writer you think in systems understand software deeply and love building from zero. You know how to turn sprawling technical complexity into clear structured and user-friendly documentation. Youve likely worked in startups or other high-velocity environments and bring a hands-on pragmatic mindset. As the first hire in this function youre excited to define standards solve edge cases and lay the groundwork for a scalable documentation practice.
To thrive in this role you likely bring a combination of the following:
- Experience as a senior-level engineer or technical writer having worked with documentation systems end-to-end.
- A docs as code mindset youre fluent with Git CI/CD pipelines automated testing and structured data.
- Comfort working across the software stack with the ability to script prototype or build lightweight tools when needed.
- Familiarity with dynamic documentation and integrating live data from external systems.
- A strong sense of structure clarity and usability always advocating for the end-user perspective.
- Motivation to build something from scratch with full ownership of both process and platform and the vision to scale it into a function.
Bonus: You enjoy engaging directly with users not in an ongoing support role but through technical onboarding training and feedback loops that help shape both product and documentation quality.

Our Recruitment Process
We aim to keep our process short and sweet but also thorough. As a small team every hire matters and we cant afford to get this one wrong.
Heres what to expect:
- Screening interview with one of our recruiters to get to know you better (30 min).
- Meet & Greet with someone from the team to learn more about us (60 min).
- Structured case interview to get to know you even better (90 min).
- Final interview and a chance to meet with the management team (45 min).
- Reference check followed by an offer if everything goes well.

Please note: We are kicking off the recruitment process now and will keep it open throughout the summer. We review applications on a rolling basis but due to upcoming holidays in July its unlikely that we will finalize the process before the end of June.
Security Clearance Requirement
All employees at Six Robotics are required to undergo a security clearance due to our close collaboration with the Norwegian Armed Forces. While prior clearance is not necessary the clearance process will be initiated as part of onboarding.
