Are you an experienced Cost Engineer looking for your next challenge in a dynamic and growing defence environment Assystem is seeking a self-motivated proactive professional to join our expanding Defence account and play a key role in the delivery of high-impact projects.
Your future team:
As a Cost Engineer you will be the go-to expert for monitoring and reporting on project cost data across our Defence portfolio. Working closely with Project Managers youll help shape cost control strategies deliver accurate financial tracking and ensure efficient project execution.
This role is based at any of our UK Assystem offices with occasional travel to client and other Assystem sites as required. Our flexible working model supports a healthy balance of home and office working.
Your missions:
Plan and prioritise workload to ensure project scope time and cost targets are met.
Develop and implement effective cost control strategies tailored to individual project requirements.
Set up cost control structures to satisfy both internal and client reporting needs.
Monitor budgets changes and expenditures; conduct earned value analysis for informed decision-making.
Prepare financial information for contract variations to support client discussions.
Review and validate vendor payments and subcontractor purchases against project budgets.
Track and report on project cash flow and highlight variances.
Continuously enhance your cost control expertise to work toward professional accreditation.

Qualifications :
Qualifications/Skills to be successful:
Minimum HNC or equivalent qualification.
Strong knowledge of cost control tools and software.
Familiarity with project controls methodology (BCWS BCWP ACWP SPI CPI SV CV).
Excellent communication skills and team collaboration ability.
Ability to plan and prioritise work independently.
Basic understanding of project planning principles.
APM or equivalent project management qualification (advantageous).
Desirable:
Experience in the nuclear or defence sectors.
Familiarity with NEC4 suite of contracts.
Knowledge of working within Frameworks and Joint Ventures.
