Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure Cloud Platform Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing implementing and managing robust scalable and secure cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform. You will play a pivotal role in our cloud strategy working closely with development teams operations and business stakeholders to deliver innovative and efficient cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Architect Azure Solutions: Develop and implement comprehensive cloud solutions across IaaS PaaS and SaaS services considering scalability performance security and cost-effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate architectural decisions.
- Cloud Strategy and Roadmap: Contribute to the development and execution of the overall cloud strategy and roadmap aligning with business objectives.
- Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance and technical leadership to development and operations teams on Azure best practices architecture patterns and emerging technologies.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design and implement IaC solutions using tools like ARM templates Bicep or Terraform to automate and manage Azure resources.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure all Azure solutions adhere to security best practices and relevant compliance standards (e.g. GDPR ISO 27001). Implement robust security controls and monitoring.
- Migration and Modernization: Lead and support the migration of on-premises workloads to Azure as well as the modernization of existing cloud applications.
- Cost Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize Azure resource utilization to ensure cost efficiency.
- Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure high availability and performance of Azure services. Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans for Azure-based solutions.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed architecture diagrams technical specifications and operational documentation.
- Stay Current: Keep abreast of the latest Azure services features and industry trends.
Qualifications :
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Cloud Architect Solutions Architect or a similar role with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
- In-depth knowledge of core Azure services including:
- Compute (Virtual Machines Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) App Services Azure Functions)
- Storage (Blob Storage Azure Files Azure Disks Azure NetApp Files)
- Networking (Virtual Networks Load Balancers Application Gateway Azure Firewall ExpressRoute VPN Gateway)
- Databases (Azure SQL Database Cosmos DB Azure Database for PostgreSQL/MySQL)
- Security (Azure Security Center Azure Sentinel Key Vault Azure Active Directory)
- Monitoring (Azure Monitor Log Analytics)
- Identity and Access Management (Azure AD RBAC)
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles including microservices serverless and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (ARM templates Bicep Terraform).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell Azure CLI Python).
- Solid understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps GitHub Actions).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication collaboration and presentation skills.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Fluent in English and either French or Dutch or both.
Desired Qualifications:
- Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g. AZ-305: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions AZ-400: Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions).
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS GCP) is a plus.
- Experience in specific industries (e.g. finance healthcare) can be an advantage.
