  • 33366 per annum (pro rata for part time)
  • 37 hours per week - Flexible working options available

Your role and responsibilities

Join Space East a dynamic and rapidly growing space cluster as a key support to our director. This broad role involves:

  • Supporting the administration and management of Space Easts systems including reporting mechanisms for funding bodies such as the UK Space Agency and regional local authorities.
  • Engaging with businesses particularly start-ups and small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to understand their needs and pressures and helping them leverage space technology for various applications.
  • Assisting in the organisation and delivery of events including stakeholder engagement partnership management and event facilitation. This includes groundwork for events to support cluster conversations and collaborations.
  • Supporting the development and reporting of funded projects with seven projects already underway and more expected.
  • Collaborating with universities and other clusters across the UK to foster innovation and growth in the space sector. Experience in working with universities or supporting collaborative projects is beneficial.
  • Engaging in presentations and public speaking representing Space East at various levels from panels with major defence organisations to talks on regional agricultural challenges.

You will need

  • To be proactive multi-skilled and motivated with a keen interest in the space sector.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills capable of engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in marketing event management or administration is beneficial.
  • Ability to travel regionally and potentially internationally for events and conferences.

The team

You will be the second full-time employee at Space East working closely with our Director Stuart. While the core team is small you will collaborate with a wide network of economic development teams a governance group and other space clusters across the UK. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a vibrant and collaborative sector with the chance to make a significant impact on the growth and success of Space East. We work in a hybrid environment with flexibility to work from home the Space Enterprise Lab at Adastral Park in Martlesham Heath or other locations as needed.
