Under the direction of the Grants Administrator II and the Vice Chair of Ophthalmology develop plan coordinate and administer grant and contract proposals for the Department of Ophthalmology. Create budgets aid in strategic planning and manage the grant tracking database.
Job Duties:
35%- Assist and advise investigators in the planning and submission of grant proposals and contract bids for funding including budgets just-in-time requests biographical sketches and other requirements. Uses knowledge of regulations federal state and private to assist faculty and staff and students in ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Manage and prepare grant budgets according to project guidelines. Ensure compliance and various funding agency rules concerning expenditures. Coordinate proposal submissions. Serve as liaison between funding agencies ORSP GCA and department investigators.
15%-Prepare and distribute financial reports to Business Manager and each Principle Investigator no less than on a quarterly basis. Analyze transactions in grant accounts monitor grant financial activities and make recommendations to investigators. Monitor the administration of post-award grants to ensure that budgeting and administrative policies procedures and agency requirements are being followed; manage administrative problems and/or budget changes occurring during the grant period.
10%-Maintain the status of awards to facilitate budget changes and pre-award carry-over no-cost extensions and supplemental requests along with other related changes potentially impacting the scope and goals of the grant.
10%-Assist investigators with the preparation of progress and final reports to the funding agency including personnel reports and unobligated balance reports. Create and maintain investigators other support document and assist staff delegated to manage induvial grant projects.
10%- Perform Costing Allocations and Payroll Accounting Adjustments for Data Coordination Unit to ensure funding is being allocated correctly. Complete and distribute effort reports in a timely manner to meet Grants and Contracts Accounting quarterly deadline.
10%- Maintain database for pending and funded grants within the division track faculty involvement in external submissions and track the status of the submitted proposals and active awards. Generate monthly reports and statistics of submission and awards. Maintain electronic files of all grants submitted.
5%-Ensure all grant invoices and bills are sent in a timely manner and that payment is received. Follow up with the sponsor as needed.
5%-Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: A bachelors degree and three years business personnel grant-in-aid or public administration experience.
