Reports to
The Project Research Officer is a member of the Gender Equity and Prevention of Gender-based Violence Team and reports to the Coordinator Gender Equity and Prevention of Gender-based Violence.
Organisational Context
WHIN is the womens health promotion and advocacy organisation for the northern metropolitan region of Melbourne (NMR). WHIN is a not-for-profit member-based organisation committed to improving the health safety and wellbeing of women and gender diverse people. WHIN works to eliminate gender inequalities and improve the health safety and wellbeing of women and gender diverse people. We do this through leadership advocacy training research and strategic partnerships.
Key Objective
Project Research Officer Gender Equity in Trades and Training is responsible for leading and supporting evidence-based research and evaluation of strategies aimed at improving recruitment and retention of women and gender-diverse people in male-dominated industries particularly trades and technical training. This role will inform policy practice and program improvements across project partners in line with the Breaking Barriers initiative
Responsibilities
Lead the design and delivery of the Breaking Barriers research project in collaboration with partners
Conduct qualitative and quantitative feminist research in a TAFE context
Develop workforce development activities including capacity building and resource development
Represent WHIN in project meetings and on steering committees as required

Remuneration
All WHIN staff are employed under the conditions set out in its Employment Agreement (EA). This role is classified equivalent to a level 5.1 position in the Social Community Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHCADS). As per WHINs current EA staff are paid 3% above award (exclusive of Superannuation).
