Job Description

Join AFCA as a strategic advisor supporting the Executive General Manager of the Regulatory Policy and Research (RP&R) team. In this pivotal role youll lead the development and oversight of governance frameworks that ensure AFCAs policy work is high-quality consistent and evidence-based.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing AFCAs policy governance processes including public consultation submissions AFCA Approaches and the Forward-Looking Review Mechanism (FRLM)
  • Driving RP&Rs contributions to strategic initiatives across AFCA
  • Designing and implementing processes that align policy work with AFCAs governance principles strategy and regulatory obligations

You will also:

  • Promote consistency accountability and transparency in policy development
  • Collaborate with internal teams regulators (ASIC APRA) Treasury and external stakeholders
  • Stay ahead of developments in the broader financial system

Qualifications :

  • Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in a related field
  • Senior-level experience in regulatory or policy roles ideally within financial services
  • Strong understanding of financial services legislation industry standards and AFCAs role in consumer redress
  • Proven ability to lead complex policy and regulatory projects including stakeholder engagement and consultation management
  • Excellent communication skills and experience managing relationships and teams
  • A collaborative mindset with the initiative to drive cross-functional outcomes
  • Ability to navigate diverse perspectives and build consensus across stakeholders
