Job Description
Join AFCA as a strategic advisor supporting the Executive General Manager of the Regulatory Policy and Research (RP&R) team. In this pivotal role youll lead the development and oversight of governance frameworks that ensure AFCAs policy work is high-quality consistent and evidence-based.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing AFCAs policy governance processes including public consultation submissions AFCA Approaches and the Forward-Looking Review Mechanism (FRLM)
- Driving RP&Rs contributions to strategic initiatives across AFCA
- Designing and implementing processes that align policy work with AFCAs governance principles strategy and regulatory obligations
You will also:
- Promote consistency accountability and transparency in policy development
- Collaborate with internal teams regulators (ASIC APRA) Treasury and external stakeholders
- Stay ahead of developments in the broader financial system
Qualifications :
- Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in a related field
- Senior-level experience in regulatory or policy roles ideally within financial services
- Strong understanding of financial services legislation industry standards and AFCAs role in consumer redress
- Proven ability to lead complex policy and regulatory projects including stakeholder engagement and consultation management
- Excellent communication skills and experience managing relationships and teams
- A collaborative mindset with the initiative to drive cross-functional outcomes
- Ability to navigate diverse perspectives and build consensus across stakeholders
